MAFS: Olivia Jackson told producers she was going throw herself off balcony

Married At First Sight’s Olivia Frazer has admitted she was under so much pressure during filming she considered throwing herself off the balcony of her apartment.

The teaching assistant, who was portrayed as a vindictive ‘mean girl’ on the Channel Nine show, made the shock confession during a night out in Sydney on Thursday, but stressed it was just a fleeting thought and she was never seriously suicidal.

Speaking to paparazzi outside Coogee Pavilion, Olivia revealed: ‘I told the house AP [on-site assistant producer], “I think I’m going to throw myself off the balcony.”‘

She was likely referring to the balcony of her apartment at Skye Suites in Sydney’s CBD, where most of MAFS was filmed late last year.

Olivia, 28, said the producer was alarmed and told her, ‘Don’t do that.’

When asked if she was joking, Olivia said that while she wasn’t serious about ending her life, the thought did cross her mind because she was so distressed. 

‘I was seriously distraught,’ she said. ‘I was not suicidal, but I was that upset, that distraught.’

Olivia’s interview divided opinion on social media, with some sympathising with her while others suspected she was being glib.

A Channel Nine spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia: ‘Nine and Endemol Shine takes its obligations in respect to the health and wellbeing of the participants of this program extremely seriously.

‘All participants have access to the show psychologist during filming, during broadcast and once the program has ended.

‘Nine also has an additional service for participants should they like or need further individual and confidential psychological support. 

‘This service gives participants access to clinicians who have been specifically engaged to support those involved in the program in relation to their experiences.

‘This service is available to all participants for as long as they need it; it does not end.’

Olivia made the remarks during a night out in Sydney’s east with her ‘husband’ Jackson Lonie and another MAFS couple, Daniel Holmes and Carolina Santos.

The foursome had dinner and drinks at Coogee Pavilion, known to locals as The Pav, and looked a little worse for wear as they emerged from the venue at 10pm.

Personal trainer Daniel, 31, dressed sharply in a white shirt and black jeans, which he teamed with brown Chelsea boots and a wristwatch. 

His ‘wife’ Carolina, 34, looked sensational in a buttoned black mini dress, cinched at the waist with a belt, which drew attention to her toned legs.

The Brazilian-born business owner completed her outfit with strappy heels and a pink designer handbag.

Jackson’s well-documented aversion to buttons was on display as he left his navy shirt unfastened to reveal the entire top half of his chest. 

The 30-year-old plumber finished things off with black jeans and white sneakers.

Olivia kept things smart-casual in a white T-shirt and grey checkered blazer, which she paired with faded jeans and beige boots.

Things haven’t been particularly easy for either couple of late, after finding themselves at the pointy end of a ‘villain edit’ on Married At First Sight. 

Olivia was labelled public enemy No. 1 after outing rival bride Domenica Calarco as an OnlyFans model, before refusing to apologise at the reunion.

Jackson, who is now living with his ‘wife’ on the NSW Central Coast, also faced scrutiny for supporting Olivia in the face of criticism from the other cast members.

Meanwhile, Daniel and Carolina’s relationship infamously started as an affair while she was still technically ‘married’ to Dion Giannarelli. 

In one of the biggest scandals of the season, Carolina began hooking up with the bodybuilder while hapless Dion tried everything to make their relationship work.

Daniel had already left the experiment after the demise of his union with Jessica Seracino, but stuck around so he could seduce another man’s ‘wife’.
