It was the incident which kept everyone interested in the Oscars, yet Will Smith has now discovered that he will not be permitted entry into the Academy Awards ceremony for 10 years.
After slapping Chris Rock for a joke he made about Smith’s wife, the famous actor has been the subject of significant debate, especially amongst those who believe his punishment is harsh.
TMZ has collected a number of reactions from Academy Awards members, with the opinions on the ban somewhat mixed.
“If Will Smith, or any other A-list actor, had run on stage, and simply pulled down their pants and defecated, I seriously doubt they’d be back on that stage in 10 years, or ever,” Harry Shearer declared.
“A decade-long ban seems oddly parental, as in, he’ll have outgrown his slapping phase by then.”
