Delta Goodrem’s boyfriend Matthew Copley breaks silence on the couple’s notoriously private relationship as he declares his love in rare tribute
Delta Goodrem’s boyfriend Matthew Copley has posted a rare tribute in honour of his partner, despite the couple being notoriously private about their relationship.
The guitarist took to Instagram on Saturday to celebrate the final show of Delta’s Bridge Over Troubled Water tour, before professing his love for her in the caption.
‘Words can’t describe the feelings I have today for the last show of tour! Humbled, excited, nervous, sad, proud, nostalgic just to name a few,’ he began.

Matt then told Delta, 37, how ‘proud’ he is of her and the hard work of their incredible team who made the tour happen.
‘I have loved every minute of this process and can not thank you enough for trusting me with the responsibilities and roles I have done with you!’ he added.
Matthew went on to hint they would take the show worldwide: ‘Here’s to taking this show worldwide as, the best is yet to come.’
Matt finished by signing off with a sweet ‘I love you’ to the singer.
Delta and Matt have largely kept their relationship out of the spotlight.

Speaking to 9Honey last year in May, Delta explained it ‘feels right’ to just keep the details of their union to themselves.
‘I understand that people are interested, and I get it. I think that’s a lovely thing. But [keeping things private] feels right,’ she said.
‘I think it’s a balance. I mean, we do work together and we’ve created this wonderful body of work together,’ she added of collaborating with her beau on the new album.

‘But I got into this for music, and connection, and touching lives and having that shared experience [with fans],’ she said, noting that her private life would stay private.
Delta and Matt confirmed they were dating in January 2018, but have kept their romance under wraps. The pair first met while on tour in late 2017.
Her Over Troubled Dreams album reached number one on the ARIA charts in May of last year.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph about the achievement, the singer said when she got the news, ‘I burst into tears, happy tears.’
She added: ‘You are not the new artist, you have been around a while but to have this record being recognised and to be a musician and an artist and then people connecting to the work, is just awesome.
‘It gets better and better. I am so overwhelmed with emotion.’
On show: Although notoriously private, the musically talented pair kept spirits up with a series of concerts online called The Bunkerdown Sessions last year under Covid lockdown
